United to Empower's (UTE) goal is to collaborate with other organizations that will help us to fulfill our mission and goals. In an effort to educate and empower our youth and communities, it is CRITICAL that we share the impact that Juneteenth has on African Americans and the history of our country.

Since 1866, June 19th has been a day to commemorate the official emancipation of slaves. UTE, along with other organizations, will facilitate a community event that is expected to reach residents of Surry County and surrounding areas.
